A Unique Tropical Island Experience - QLD - Rural Generalist Locum
The Position
Are you passionate about improving the health outcomes of a remote Indigenous community? Would you like to work on a tropical island located in the Great Barrier Reef?
★ Working on Palm Island consists of work across Joyce Palmer Health Service, the Primary Care Centre on rotation (shared on-call) and assisting in maintaining functional connections between the centres to ensure continuity of care for patients.
★ Since Palm Island is almost exclusively populated by Aboriginal people, you will be contributing to a health service in an area with unique needs. You will be playing an important role in making a real difference to the communities on the island.
★ Roster Pattern - 8 days on / 6 days off (Monday – Monday) – 2 cycles in total - On call: 4 on-call in 8
★ You will also be expected to supervise junior medical staff, cover inpatient (wards) and outpatient clinics

The Benefits
★ $2150 per day
★ Payment choice - either via invoice or Prescript payroll:
➞ Invoice if PTY Ltd or Trust business structure - you will have PI, PL & WC + Medical Indemnity
➞ Prescript payroll - daily rate inclusive of super (salary packaging available)
★ On-call is shared between the doctors in a supported environment with a very experienced Medical Superintendent
★ Flights and accommodation provided
Who We’re Looking For
✓ Specialist AHPRA Registration in General Practice
✓ FACRRM or FRACGP - i.e. Rural Generalist, Rural Vocational Practitioner, Professional Fellow or Rural Practitioner
✓ Australian permanent resident or citizen, NZ citizen, or relevant work visa
✓ Experience working in Aboriginal Medical Services
✓ ALS2 or equivalent advanced life support certificate
